Pasta with tomato sauce and wodka; fried potatoes with red peppers and a touch of chili; steak tartare with a little fried onion; a salad with rocket leaves, cherry tomatoes, cubes of cucumber and some blue cheese with a tart dressing; and some sauteed carrots. The pasta with wodka is a favourite now. Just make a simple tomato sauce (put a can of tinned tomatoes in a pan with a tablespoon of sugar, a pinch of salt, and a knob of butter, and simmer for 1,5 hours. The sauce gets a very creamy and does not have the harsh acidity which tomato sauces sometimes have.) Cook penne until al dente, drain, put back in pan and then add some butter and a big splash of wodka. swirl around, then add tomato sauce and some torn basil leaves. Put in a large pasta dish and sprinkle with parmezan... I could eat this at lunch too, easily.
